Raptors and Zoonotic Infections
Friday, September 24, 2010
8:00 am – 12 noon

This session will explore emerging zoonotic infections of raptors, primarily in North America, focusing on risks to raptors and handlers. Specific diseases (e.g. West Nile virus, avian influenza viruses, Mycobacterium avium, Aspergillus fumigatus, etc.) will be explored as well as surveillance strategies that benefit both raptor populations and public health.

The session will occur on Friday 24 September and is being organized by Nick Komar (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).
